St. Francis Prep graduate, John Brown, Class of 1976, served as the Grand Marshall of the 2011 Veteran's Day Parade in New York City.  He is also part of a group that was instrumental in getting a 16-foot-tall bronze statue created to honor U.S. Army Special Forces who fought in Afghanistan against the Taliban after the Sept. 11 terror attacks.  The statue, (pictured below) by artist Douwe Blumberg, was unveiled at the World Financial Center, where it will remain temporarily until it moves to a permanent location near the World Trade Center site.

John is Chairman of the Board of No Greater Sacrifice, a nonprofit organization created in February 2008, dedicated to the children of our nation’s fallen and wounded Service members by delivering scholarships and resources to improve their quality of life through the pursuit of higher education.

In his professional life, John is a Group Managing Director for Wealth Management Americas of UBS. He currently heads the Wealth Management Solutions business. He became a member of the Wealth Management Americas Executive Committee in 2009. Mr. Brown joined UBS in November 2009 with 30 years of financial services experience. From 1980 to 2009, Mr. Brown spent most of his career at Merrill Lynch, in senior trading and product management roles, including leading Global Convertible Securities Products, Head of Equity Financing and Prime Broker Americas, and as CEO of Merrill Lynch Professional Clearing Group.
